Why do people who choose to buy homes in flood zones, dangerous hill sides etc ?

Feel they should keep getting bail out by the government ie the rest of the tax payers.

Many rebuild in the same areas time and time again when it is obvious it will happen again.Why do people who choose to buy homes in flood zones, dangerous hill sides etc ?
Cheap land. You can get the house of your dreams for the price you can afford if the demand isn't too high. I guess once insurance kicks in, they think that every time something happens they will survive and insurance will rescue them again. Some people just aren't that smart or at least take risks.Why do people who choose to buy homes in flood zones, dangerous hill sides etc ?
The price of the house is usually A LOT cheaper, even if it is a nice house.
i used to live in galveston tx it was beautifull i love it i also carried insurance on my home and most do unless there just that crazy not too. not just the goverment pays out of pocket most of the time its the insurance that pays.
LOL..good question. Even if it is cheap land, the house ins. premium would be enough to offset the savings cost of the home. They probably don't think like that though. I'm sure after you make a large claim, your insurance would increase even more.
thats like asking why people buy homes in New Orleans. Its just the location, and if the location just happens to be New Orleans or the side of a cliff, so be it. Thats why they have insurance.
Try this thought. A small percentage of the population is born without a functioning brain, this why we also see so many people driving 90 mph in a hail storm and why so many people die right after saying ';Hey guys, watch this';
