Where is a good place to buy homes in Virginia?

I'm not looking for a house quite yet, but I was wondering where prices are more reasonable here in Virginia. Right now I reside in Springfield, and it's very expensive here. Any suggestions?Where is a good place to buy homes in Virginia?
How far do you want to travel to work? Where do you work? This will be important to determine where you'll want to buy. There are some great places to live in Virginia which are much more reasonable than Springfield.

Prince William County offers the closeness to the DC area, yet lower prices than Fairfax County. Also, the Stafford County area is somewhat close to the DC area, but provides a little more space than Prince William. There are many factors to think about when deciding where you want to live - location, amenities, schools, transportation (commuter), etc.
