Buying home, seller is also licensed real estate agent, what should we watch out for?

We are first time homebuyers and know nothing about any part of homebuying. We don't want to get scammed. Any information is helpful.Buying home, seller is also licensed real estate agent, what should we watch out for?
As a Realtor, we're under an intense amount of scrutiny on all of our deals. We can get fined and lose our license for unethical behavior.

You probably won't get scammed, but you'll probably make a bad purchase. Just go get your own Realtor. Make sure they're operating as a buyer's agent. That means their loyalty is with you. Most buyer's agents get their money from the seller when the house sells.

Shouldn't cost you a thing. DO NOT EVER try and buy a house without an agent unless you're an experienced investor. There are a million ways you can screw up.Buying home, seller is also licensed real estate agent, what should we watch out for?
i would recommend getting another realtor to help you. like any house, price and closing costs are negotiable. you can buy the house ';as is';, with the right to request repairs, or the right to terminate. hire a home inspector to take a look at the house. the seller has to disclose any known problems with the house. you can include special stipulations that you want repaired as part of the deal. unless previously specified, you can choose which closing attorney you want to use. as you can see, there are a lot of options so talking with a realtor in your area would be a good idea.
